Missy Schlottman embarked on her real estate journey in 1997 and immediately fell in love with the real estate industry. She began her career as a licensed assistant to one of the top producers at Lake Spivey, gaining valuable insights into the industry. Her expertise evolved as she transitioned to Prudential Georgia Realty before delving into new home sales full-time with GT Architecture. During her tenure, Missy adeptly assisted clients through every stage of the home-building process, serving as a crucial liaison between builder and purchaser. In 2002, Missy joined forces with her mother at Gateway Realty, where she thrived as part of a dynamic team. While her mother continued her real estate endeavors with Berkshire Hathaway Georgia Properties, Missy made a pivotal decision to transition into teaching, allowing her to prioritize time with her daughters during evenings and summers. Recently reactivating her real estate license, Missy is eager to leverage her expertise to help individuals with the entire real estate process. Missy explains “ What I am looking forward to helping clients with is educating them on different areas of the lake and providing them with the information and tools they need to feel comfortable with their decision. My goal is to eliminate the stress of home buying or selling and my focus is to build relationships that will create life-long clients and friendships!!
Missy and her husband, who works in IT with Delta Airlines, built their dream home on Lake Oconee in 2021. Missy developed a deep connection to the area as her family owned a home on the lake. This instilled in her an intimate understanding of the lake and its surrounding community. Missy and her husband Pat are the also proud parents of a blended family including three daughters and one son.
During fall, Missy can be found immersing herself in the spirited atmosphere of Athens, tailgating and cheering on UGA football. An enthusiastic newcomer to pickleball, she appreciates the camaraderie and excitement surrounding the sport. Missy has become very involved in her neighborhood and enjoys participating in her neighborhood book club and also serving as secretary of the neighborhood HOA.
Outside of her professional and personal commitments, Missy indulges in a diverse range of interests. An avid traveler, she enjoys exploring new destinations and cultures. Closer to home, Missy finds solace in gardening, decorating, and the conviviality of grilling out with friends and family. She attends church at Lakeside Church at Lake Oconee. Her favorite summer pastime involves leisurely days spent at Lake Club, boating, hosting gatherings or dinner out with friends at Tavern.
